Eating alone!

Today we decided to give Tyrgen his fork and see what would happen.  Well, he used it to prick his food and when he managed to snag a piece, he put it in his mouth….

-> astonishment…

And then he got both forks to muck around with :)

End of a chapter for Tyrgen

The box is gone and replaced by a wooden toy chest! He likes it :)

A long walk…

So we decided to participate in the local ‘sneukeltocht’, a nice walk in the neighbourhood with some assignments for the kids to do. Well, it was muddy, lasted for two hours and man, it was a bit less leisurely strolling than we had expected, but we had fun :D

Tyrgen is learning new moves :)

Today he went after his bottle, and brought it back. Since he can’t walk yet, and needs both hands for crawling, he found another way to transport the bottle :) It was funny to see, and he is hilarious when smiling this way :D

Happy birthday Professor!

Every year on the third of January, at nine in the evening, we raise a glass to the West to toast on J.R.R. Tolkiens birth day. We toast with ‘The Professor’ and to remember what a great gift he gave us.

This year, we added a language class in writing Quenya, thank you Dirk! But man, this is not an easy language to learn, but I will try, since I like it, and I would like to learn to write it in calligraphy! I already know how to do calligraphy, so now just to learn the symbols of my new chosen language :D

Happy Birthday Professor, and thank you for the wonderful books.

Happy New Year!

This will be a year in which I hope all goes well for you and yours.

I’m going to try and post a bit more (yeahyeah ;p) and merge the kiddies blog and mine :D Wish me luck!

See ya’ll soon!

Thorials new pencil case -> home made!

When Thorial went to an extra dance class, and needed to take pencils, scissors, glue, … I decided he needed a new pencil case. And since I can now handle myself a little bit on a sewing machine, I wanted to make it myself!

This is the end result, and I must say, I’m rather pleased with myself and he liked it too (after wanting a different fabric on Sunday eve 21h…. which was impossible with a Monday morning deadline)

Not the best pictures possible, but I like how the pencil case turned out :)

Ice skating!

Thorial has been ice skating before, and he liked it, so we decided to take him to the special Christmas holiday ice skating, outside and on the old market square.

He had a little bit of trouble holding himself upright :)

But after a few tries

He was even jumping!

I was on the sidelines, taking pictures and taking care of our bundled up little guy

1 year old!
